What people are saying.

  • “I started playing golf in mid 2016. I had previously only played a in a few odd company golf days over the years and never played on a regular basis or had any professional lessons. It was a bit daunting when I first started playing but Nic Torbett suggested I had a few lessons with him to get me going. From the start I found Nic very easy to understand and there was no pressure to the pace of the lessons. After my first set of 6 lessons I had already picked up the basics of a swing pattern and soon found that once playing I managed to get my handicap down pretty quickly from 26 to 22. From there he helped to sort out some more technical points of the game and I managed to reduce my handicap further to present 20. I would certainly recommend Nic for anybody wishing to take up the game or indeed anybody wishing to improve their existing handicap”.

  • “I started having lessons with Nic at a time when my swing was very inconsistent and with my handicap at 28+. We worked on all aspects of the game from grip through to ball striking. Nic always kept the sessions nice and relaxed from the offset which really made it easy to understand them and more fun. Every week he would adapt the lessons as I evolved and make small tweaks which has really helped with the consistency aspect of my game and brought my handicap down to about 20 today. Nic's knowledge of the game is impressive coupled with his excellent teaching methods, huge patience and a great sense of humour. I continue lessons today with Nic and confident he will have me down to a 15 handicap in no time. I would highly recommend Nic to anyone looking to improve their game, as I did to my father who just completed his first set of lessons as a new comer to golf and thoroughly enjoyed!”

  • “My son started having lessons with Nic during his summer holidays while attending one of his summer golf camps when he was about 9 years old. This got him interested in the game and he started having individual lessons where he learnt excellent swing fundamentals which has given him a solid foundation on which to build his game and continue to improve. As my son has got older Nic has adapted his teaching style accordingly and always takes an interest in how things are developing with his game. In turn I have also had lessons with Nic allowing him to sort out many of the bad habits that I have developed over the years. Nic is always enthusiastic and with his knowledge of the golf swing can quickly spot where things are going astray and form a solution to put things right”.

  • “I’ve taken lessons throughout the 22 years that I have been playing golf as I see coaching as a way of improving my knowledge of my game. As I’ve got older unfortunately my movements have changed due a continuous back problem. I’ve been seeing the junior doctor (Nic) for the past 3 years and have found his methods, communication skills and knowledge on how to work around my back injury perfect for me, he keeps things simple but informative and I would highly recommend Nic to anyone looking to gain a better understanding of their golf swing”.

  • “Nic is an excellent teacher with whom I have had about a dozen lessons with on all aspects of the game. He quickly gets to the root of the problem and demonstrates the correct technique with good simple explanation. All this done in my case by Nic with a necessary and considerable amount of patience and friendliness. Nic takes an ongoing interest, frequently enquiring about my progress”.

  • “Nic has taught 3 generations of Plummer’s over the last 7 years. Benjamin started attending the children’s lessons when he was 4 years old and still attends regularly now aged 10. Nic has a great way with the children and seeing the progress Benjamin has made from complete novice to now comfortably playing 9 holes on the course is a testament in itself to Nic and his teaching methods. One of the most important factors when Nic is teaching and whether that be Grandad Plummer (71), Daddy Plummer (42) or Benjamin Plummer (10), although there are serious moments the lessons are always fun and carried out with a smile on the face”.
